Director Michael Canzoniero has just completed principal shooting in 48 hours around NYC for "Making the Day," a feature length dramedy about two actors trying to raise money for an independent film. Co-directed by Marco Ricco, Stuart Braunstein and Bennett Springsteel and produced by Nikolas Zasimczuk, "Making the Day" may be at least the first feature film with principal shooting to be shot around New York City in 48 hours. Canzoniero says "This film breaks new ground by consecutively filming large scenes at several iconic New York City locations, as the story unfolds in real time." Two camera crews Canzoniero called the Red team and the Blue team sped madly around shooting sites in Manhattan, including the landmark Chelsea Hotel, a hip West Side art gallery, fabulous burlesque hot-spot the Slipper Room, trendy e-cigarette lounge the Henley Vaporium, an East Village yoga center, and a Soho bar, allowing the actors to move from one location to another without having to wait for set up.

Canzoniero's latest film, "Don Peyote," starring Dan Folger, with Josh Duhamel. Jay Baruchel and Anne Hathway, recently opened up in theaters nationwide and picked up four awards at the Vision Festival.

"Making the Day" starring Steven Randazzo (Awakenings, Mighty Aphrodite), and Juliette Bennett (As Good As Dead, Shame the Devil) was inspired by the true story of trying to finance a film called "Cagney Cried." It focuses on the relationship of two actors from very different worlds whom life has thrown together to make the film happen. Steven Randazzo says, "I grew up in Little Italy, where my hero was Jimmy Cagney and my dream was owning a farm with chickens and cows like he did. Working on this film with Juliette made me appreciate the weird people and places of New York, but I'm still trying to figure out how to Twitter." Juliette Bennett says, "I learned a lot, including how to say "va fungool!" and what happened in 1972 at Umberto's Clam House."

Randazzo and Bennett are joined in their quest by Speed Levitch (The Cruise, Up To Speed) and supermodel Kira Dikhytar as well as many great NY actors including Dan Fogler, Michael Buscemi, Ilana Levine and Yang Miller.

Canzoniero says, "It felt like the Wizard of Oz, but with actors running around NYC looking for cash rather than the Wizard. It is about looking for that big producer Oz we all fantasize may be behind the curtain. In truth, it is always about the journey, the process, and how we change when we learn how to make something happen. As a collective creative force, with a little perseverance, surprises and miracles can occur."
