Photo Flash: Cristina Fontanelli Performs 13th Annual 'Christmas in Italy' at The Landmark Theater

Opera Star Cristina Fontanelli performed her 13th Annual Christmas in Italy at the 1300 seat Landmark Theater in NYC on Sunday December 18th. The show is a vocal journey through Italy's best loved songs, arias, Neopolitan and Christmas classics. Cristina was joined on stage by Maestro David Maiullo, John LaBarbera, Barry Mitterhoff, Jay Posipanko, Angelo Coppola, Blake Friedman, Plu Sayampol, The Christmas in Italy Choir, The Children of The Little Language Studio, The Children of Jersey City Ballet, Miss Italia USA, Ornella Fado and Santa Claus! Cristina and her 75 member cast performed songs La Danza, Musica Proibita, Tarantella, Mambo Italiano, Ave Maria, Silent Night, Jingle Bells and many more for a joyous 2 hours.

Cristina Fontanelli has become a well-known personality through her recordings, appearances on TV, radio, in concerts and operas. Cristina's beautiful soprano voice has taken her to the White House as part of President Clinton's holiday celebration and the opening the ceremonies at the Stars and Stripes Inaugural Ball for President George W. Bush. Ms. Fontanelli speaks fluent Italian and sings and entertains in 8 languages. She is the recipient of the "Lifetime Achievement Award in the Arts" from the Order Sons of Italy in America (previous honorees include Luciano Pavarotti). She hosted Andrea Bocelli's "Live From Central Park" for PBS and has sung title roles with the Palm Beach Opera, the Cairo Opera, Opera of Hong Kong, the NY Grand Opera, and NJ State Opera among others.

Ms. Fontanelli is a guest artist with many prestigious orchestras including the Boston Pops and the St. Louis Symphony performing in major concert halls throughout the U.S. and the world, including the Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center and major concert halls throughout the Far East and Canada. She has completed three world-tours with the Mantovani Orchestra and recently appeared in Jimmy Kimmel's Feast of San Gennaro in Hollywood, CA.
