On June 5, 2007 at 7 pm , the Hideaway Room At Helen's hosted a very special benefit performance of "Carol Channing in Concert: Starring Richard Skipper" for the Dr. Carol Channing/Harry Kullijian Foundation For The Arts, with special guests Channing and husband Kullijian in attendance!
According to press notes, "Richard Skipper returns for one night only in his critically acclaimed and audience pleasing tribute to the Broadway legend, Carol Channing. This will be a benefit for the Dr. Carol Channing/Harry Kullijian Foundation For The Arts, an organization which is dedicated to bringing funding for the future of emerging artists. Carol Channing, the 'first lady of musical comedy,' has been visiting universities and high schools as part of her tour of California State University campuses. Channing and her husband are establishing a theatre scholarship at each. "Our school children are the ones who will carry on and reinvigorate California's performing and fine arts tradition and they can not do so without our support," says famed Broadway star Carol Channing. The benefit performance will feature the Paul Stephan Group."This show, plus exclusive interviews, were filmed for an upcoming segment on "That's Kentertainment!" and BroadwayWorld.com.
