The magnificent new production of Alan Jay Lerner (book and lyrics) and Frederick Loewe's (music) Camelot, starring stage and film star Michael York, continues its national tour with performances at American Musical Theatre of San Jose January 30-February 11.

Glenn Casale will direct this daring re-staging of the original script, adapted with an edgy new concept by Michael Lerner, and co-produced by Liza Lerner.  The 20-plus person cast features Broadway star Rachel York (City of Angels, Victor/Victoria, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) as Guenevere, torn between two lovers as Guenevere.  James Barbour (Assassins, Jane Eyre, Urinetown, Beauty and the Beast) completes the memorable love-triangle as Lancelot. The memorable score includes the romantic and haunting "If Ever I Would Leave You," the captivating "How to Handle a Woman," and the majestic title song "Camelot."

Michael York's more than 60 screen credits include memorable roles in such films as Bob Fosse's Oscar-winning Cabaret opposite Liza Minnelli; plus Something for Everyone, Murder on the Orient Express, The Three Musketeers, Logan's Run and opposite Burt Lancaster in The Island of Dr. Moreau. Recent work includes all three Austin Powers movies as well as guest appearances on HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm. Broadway credits include Someone Who'll Watch Over Me, the musical of The Little Prince, Bent, The Crucible, and the world premiere of Tennessee Williams' Outcry. Camelot will mark York's North American touring debut and first appearance on a Bay Area stage.

Camelot opens Tuesday, January 30 and closes Sunday, February 11.  Show times are Wednesday-Friday at 8PM, Saturday at 2 & 8PM, Sunday at 1 & 6:30PM.
