Photo Flash: Brooklyn Tour in San Jose

The American Musical Theatre of San Jose presents the West Coast premiere of Brooklyn, the musical…starring American Idol finalist Diana DeGarmo, who starred in AMTSJ's production of West Side Story this past season, with Tony Award-winners Melba Moore and Cleavant Derricks.

"Imagine Hair or Godspell, throw in a helping of Motown and filter the whole thing through the pyrotechnics of American Idol" raves The New York Times of the Mark Schoenfeld and Barri McPherson collaboration Brooklyn, the musical.

From the heart of Brooklyn comes a band of soulful street-corner singers and storytellers. With a mix of pop and soul, they set their stage and tell a sidewalk fairy tale about a young girl searching for fame and the father she never knew. With just one clue to lead her, she lands in the city that bears her name…Brooklyn.

Brooklyn opens August 9 and runs until August 13, with performances Wednesday through Friday at 8:00PM, Saturday at 2:00PM and 8:00PM, and Sunday at 1:00PM and 6:30PM.
