Photo Flash: Bronx's SCAN Receives 'Walmart Community Playmakers Award' at Sesame Street Live

Today, Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Sesame Street Live! Let's Party! at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. SCAN New York received the Walmart Community Playmakers Award and a check for $1,000 on-stage before a Sesame Street Live show. As a part of the honor, Bronx children from SCAN were invited to the Sesame Street Live pre-show experience to meet Cookie Monster, Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch before enjoying the show. SCAN COMPASS after-school Program Directors Grace Garcia of PS 73X and Wanda Santiago of PS 114X were onsite to accept the award and check.

SCAN New York was nominated for this honor by the Garden of Dreams Foundation, Madison Square Garden's not-for-profit that partners with hospitals and community organizations to help kids facing obstacles in the tri-state area. Founded in 1977, SCAN is a non-profit youth and family service organization that provides a variety of integrated supports to the highest risk children and families of East Harlem and the South Bronx. Serving over 7,000 children and teens and 1,000 adults and families each year at 23 program sites, SCAN is the largest youth service provider in East Harlem and the South Bronx.

MSG Live and Feld Entertainment announced today that Sesame Street Live! Let's Party! will take the Theater at Madison Square Garden stage from February 9, 2018 through February 19, 2018 for seventeen performances. Tickets will be available to the general public on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10:00AM.

Everyone's invited to take part in the sunniest and funniest street celebration in Sesame Street Live! Let's Party! featuring favorite Sesame Street pals Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird and more in a brand-new sensory adventure live on stage. From the moment the curtain rises, parents and children alike will be on their feet dancing along to a pop-infused soundtrack with new Sesame Street friends and live emcees Casey and Caleb. Planning a party isn't easy when everybody has a different idea of fun, but with some help from the audience, it becomes the ultimate reflection of what friendship plus teamwork can accomplish. Party guests will sing along to new and familiar songs, like "I Love Trash" and "C is for Cookie," with Oscar the Grouch and Cookie Monster; dance to the beat with Elmo; explore a wintry wonderland when Abby Cadabby's magic goes awry; take flight with Big Bird to learn about some of his fabulous feathered friends and discover new cultures in an interactive Spanish lesson with Rosita.

A unique, up-close-and-personal pre-show experience will be offered at an additional charge prior to select performances, allowing families the opportunity to tour the on-stage neighborhood of their favorite, furry friends before they arrive for the main show. The fun doesn't end there. A variety of interactive activities give children the chance to create, discover and learn as they help decorate for the upcoming party.

Tickets go on sale Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10:00AM and will be available through Ticketmaster Charge By Phone (1-866-858-0008) and all Ticketmaster Outlets. Tickets will also be available in person on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and Beacon Theatre box offices.
