The new cast of Broadway's hottest comedy, the Tony Award-winning Best Play, GOD OF CARNAGE: Tony nominee Dylan Baker (Mauritius), original Broadway cast member and Tony nominee Jeff Daniels, Emmy nominee Lucy Liu (Charlie's Angels), and Tony Award-winner Janet McTeer (original cast member of West End production of God of Carnage), is now in performances. GOD OF CARNAGE plays at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street).
After receiving rave reviews in London, GOD OF CARNAGE opened on Broadway March 22, 2009 to unanimous praise.
Jeff Daniels originated the role of ‘Alan' in the original Broadway production of GOD OF CARNAGE, for which he received a Tony nomination. In a rare casting twist, he returns to the show to play the role of ‘Michael.'Janet McTeer created the role of ‘Veronica' in the London premiere of the play. Ms. McTeer is appearing with the support of Actors' Equity Association. The producers gratefully acknowledge Actors' Equity Association for its assistance of this production.The Yasmina Reza comedy won the Tony Award for Best Play and Best Direction of a Play (Matthew Warchus). GOD OF CARNAGE also won the 2009 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy.GOD OF CARNAGE is a comedy of manners without the manners.
