New York, May 6, 2013 -- Fresh from her choreographing stint at the first London revival of Marvin Hamlisch's "A Chorus Line," Baayork Lee, "A Chorus Line" veteran herself, and a co-founder of the National Asian Artists Project, a non-profit organization that promotes Asian performing artists, presents a fully-staged, fully-costumed adaptation of Jerry Herman's hit Broadway musical "Hello, Dolly!," featuring an all-Asian cast led by Rosetta LeNoire Award-winning actress Christine Toy Johnson as Dolly Gallagher Levi, a widowed matchmaker (a role originated by Carol Channing in the 1964 Broadway production).
Raul Aranas ("Giant," "Miss Saigon") as Horace Vandergelder, Karl Josef Co ("Allegiance") as Cornelius Hackl, Sam Tanabe as Barnaby, Jaygee Macapugay as Irene Molloy, Alex Chester ("How The Grinch Stole Christmas") as Minnie Fay, Rebecca Lee Lerman as Ermengarde, Austin Ku ("Chinglish") as Ambrose Kemper, David Shih as Rudolph, and Carla Ogden as Ernestina join Johnson in this production, directed by Tony nominee Lee Roy Reams, who also directed Channing when the legendary comedienne reprised her role as Dolly on Broadway in 1995.
This limited run of "Hello, Dolly!" closes tonight (7:30 p.m.), May 6 at the Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street).
