Broadway Knights presented Broadway Memories, a fundraiser concert to benefit Alzheimer's Association and Capistrano Center for the Performing Arts this past Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. in the Rose Center Theatre.
Broadway Memories stared some of Broadway's biggest names live in concert, including Sutton Foster (Tony Award for Thoroughly Modern Millie, Tony Nomination for Little Women, Drowsy Chaperone and Shrek, the Musical), Adam Pascal (Tony Nomination for Broadway's Rent), Anthony Rapp (Broadway's Rent and You're a Good Man Charlie Brown), Kerry Butler (Tony Nomination for Xanadu, Broadway's Hairspray and Rock of Ages), Stephanie J. Block (Wicked and 9 to 5), and Stephen Tewksberry (Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables), with a special appearance by Pamela Winslow (Paradise Found, Into the Woods). The evening is hosted by Paul Canaan (Legally Blonde, Thoroughly Modern Millie) and Matthew Risch (Pal Joey and Legally Blonde), and is directed by Michael Scheman.
Broadway Memories featured these top vocalists/actors (along with a live band and backup singers) performing iconic songs from the shows they've become known for, including Rent, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Wicked, plus a few surprises.
Proceeds enrich the efforts of the Capistrano Center for the Performing Arts and the Alzheimer's Association, which enhances the lives of the 66,000 families in Orange County affected by Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
