In celebration of Asian Heritage month, the Equal Employment Opportunity Committee of Actors' Equity Association and ReImagined World Entertainment presented "The Asian American Composers and Lyricists Project," a free evening of original works created and sung by Asian American theatre artists. This one-night only concert event took place on Sunday, May 19 at 8PM at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at the Pershing Square Signature Center. BroadwayWorld has photos from the event below!
The evening was directed by Alan Muraoka ("Sesame Street") and emceed by Ann Harada (Broadway's "Cinderella"), featuring original music and lyrics by Adam Gwon, Timothy Huang, Christine Toy Johnson, Leon Ko, Felice Kuan, Robert Lee, Yan Li and Jason Ma.
The company of stage actors scheduled to perform included: Cindy Cheung, Karl Josef Co, Joshua Dela Cruz, Marc De La Cruz, Daniel J. Edwards, Ali Ewoldt, Brooke Ishibashi, Joanne Javien, Christine Toy Johnson, Brian Jose, Raymond J. Lee, Telly Leung, Jose Llana, Jaygee Macapugay, Helen Park, Diane Phelan, Ann Sanders and Hansel Tan.
