The New York Theatre Collective presents Alfred Kinsey: A Love Story by Mike Folie, off-Broadway at the Michael Weller Theatre, opening September 10 at 8PM.
This new play is directed by Craig J. George and stars Jessica Dickey, Wayne Maugans, Carter Roy and Melinda Wade. The creative team includes Sarah Lambert (scenic), Irma Escobar (costumes), Richard Tatum (lighting), Mark Goodloe (sound) and Shaun Fillion (projections).
Alfred Kinsey: A Love Story is a "highly theatrical and fictionalized biography that places Kinsey's own erotic voyage under examination; revealing the raw, hot emotions that often hide beneath his seemingly cold search for scientific knowledge. Through the wreckage of his memories and hallucinatory fragments, the play dissects the unreliability of objective truth and lays bare one man's obsessive fascination with sex and sexual orientation. This comic and erotic search for the truth through his subjects' sex lives ultimately leads him full circle to shattering discoveries about himself," state press notes.
Performances of Alfred Kinsey: A Love Story are Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday at 8PM; and Sunday at 7:30PM. Tickets are $18 and are available by calling 212-352-3101 or (toll-free) 866-811-4111 or through Theatermania.com
