Photo Coverage: Wicked Celebrates 1000th Performance

Wicked, the smash musical that tells the untold story of the witches of Oz, celebrated its 1,000th performance on Broadway on Thursday, March 23 and BroadwayWorld was there!

Wicked has been sold out at virtually every performance since having its official opening at the Gershwin Theatre (222 W. 51st St.) on October 30, 2003, breaking house records with box office receipts of over $1.3 million per week.

Eden Espinosa (Elphaba) and Megan Hilty (Glinda) currently star with Tony Award-winner Ben Vereen (the Wizard), with Carol Kane (Madame Morrible) and Derrick Williams (Fiyero), Jenna Leigh Green (Nessarose), Sean McCourt (Dr. Dillamond) and Robb Sapp (Boq) also featured. David Garrison (Bells Are Ringing, Titanic) assumes the role of the Wizard beginning April 4.
