Photo Coverage: UPRIGHT's Holiday Concert in L.A.

UPRIGHT, an L.A. Cabaret, along with AIDS Project Los Angeles presented Life is a Holiday Cabaret, a star-studded benefit show and annual toy drive, raising money for APLA December 10 at La Boheme Restaurant in West Hollywood, Calif.

Producers and hosts Shane Scheel and Chris Isaacson, along with music director Trapper Felides covered the holiday musical spectrum with holiday classics from Jerry Herman to Tori Amos, all in the beautiful West Hollywood hotspot. Performers for the evening included Becki Newton and Michael Urie (ABC's "Ugly Betty"), Leslie Odom Jr. (Rent, Hairspray), Gerald Sternbach (Wishful Drinking, Reprise), Autmn Reeser (Fox's "The O.C.") and plenty more.

Previous UPRIGHT productions have included cast members from over 50 Broadway and national tours, including All Shook Up, Avenue Q, Big River, Curtains, The Drowsy Chaperone, Gypsy, Hairspray, Into the Woods, Jersey Boys, Les Miserables, Rent, Spamalot and Wicked.

"Cabaret is synonymous with New York City sophisticates, with Liza Minnelli, or the dark, gothic rooms of booze and bawd. But in sunny Los Angeles, Chris and Shane along with Music Director Trapper Felides, have turned that stale sister into a hip and contemporary social swirl of young Broadway and young Hollywood together recalling the legendary days of The Rose Tattoo," according to a press release.

UPRIGHT has extended the popular holiday show through Sunday December 17 due to overwhelming demand for tickets. The extra performances will take place at Marks Restaurant at 861 N. La Cienega Blvd. in West Hollywood.  For reservations call 310-652-5252. Future UPRIGHT Cabaret evenings will return to La Boheme on the second Friday of every month.
