The beloved Broadway tradition continued yesterday as Sardi's (234 West 44th Street) added a caricature for three-time Tony Award winning choreographer and director Kathleen Marshall to its walls with an unveiling celebration.
Marshall is known for her work on close to eighteen Broadway musicals over the past several years. She won her first Tony Award in 2004 for Best Choreography for her work in Wonderful Town starring Donna Murphy. Marshall took home her second Tony Award for the outstanding choreography in the revival of The Pajama Game starring 2015 Tony Award winner Kelli O'Hara. Her choreography has become some of the best on Broadway, espeically when she wowed audiences with the amazing, 11 o'clock tap number in the revival of Anything Goes starring Sutton Foster, this would lead to her third Tony Award for Best Choreography and a Tony Award for Ms. Foster.
She has also directed and choreographed Broadway productions of Grease, The Pajama Game, Anything Goes, Nice Work If You Can Get It and most recently the Broadway play Living on Love starring Renée Fleming, Anna Chlumsky, Jerry O'Connell and Douglas Sills.
Joined by her family, Tony Award winner Joel Grey and Kelli O'Hara, Marshall's caricture will adorn the walls of Sardi's alongside other Broadway legends.
