Broadway stars got obscene and offensive at The Sounds of SILENCE! And Other Inappropriate Showtunes on Sunday, August 14th at Dodgers Stages (340 W. 50th St.). Starring Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q), Gary Adler (composer of Altar Boyz), Amanda Green (the upcoming High Fidelity), Lisa Howard (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Kathy Brier (Hairspray), Natalie Joy Johnson (BARE), Larry O'Keefe (composer of Bat Boy and the upcoming Legally Blonde, the Musical), Tyler Maynard (Altar Boyz), Jim Caruso(Jim Caruso's Cast Party), as well as Jen Barnhart (Avenue Q), Stephen Bienskie (Cats), Phoebe Kreutz (Avenue Q), Natalie Douglas (The Atrain Plays), Kate Pazakis (The Sexless Years), Julie Garnye (Hair Concert), AJ Irvin (Finian's Rainbow) and others, the concert was a benefit for Tesseract Theatre.Hosted by Scott Nevins (Scott Nevins Variety Hour), and with musical direction by Brian J. Nash, the show featured songs by O'Keefe, Adler, Marc Shaiman, Kreutz, and others. Included in the lineup were new songs from the upcoming production of Silence! the Musical (of which Tesseract is a presenter), as well as numbers from Jerry Springer: the Opera.
