Lorin Latarro and Dennis Stowe were chosen as The Apple Tree's winner of the Gypsy Robe.  While Latarro technically has the most Broadway chorus credits, she had previously been selected as the Gypsy Robe winner for A Chorus Line.  Latarro graciously passed the robe on to Stowe.  Both performers are in the ensemble of the Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of The Apple Tree, which opened at Studio 54 on December 14th; it plays a limited engagement through March 11th.

The colorful Gypsy Robe, embellished with mementos from Broadway musicals, is presented to the cast member who has the most Broadway chorus credits. Spring Awakening's Krysta Rodriguez was the last performer to be chosen as the Gypsy Robe winner. Latarro's previous Broadway credits, in addition to A Chorus Line, include Wonderful Town, Man of La Mancha, Movin' Out, Swing! and Kiss Me, Kate.  Stowe has appeared on Broadway in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Wonderful Town, and Man of La Mancha.

Starring Tony Award-winner Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked), Marc Kudisch (See What I Wanna See) and Brian d'Arcy James (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), The Apple Tree features direction by Gary Griffin (The Color Purple), choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, with musical supervision by Rob Fisher.

"From the songwriting team of She Loves Me and Fiddler On The Roof comes a unique evening of three one-act musicals about men, women and a little thing called temptation.  The Apple Tree is based on "The Diary of Adam and Eve" by Mark Twain; "The Lady or the Tiger?" by Frank R. Stockton; and "Passionella" by Jules Feiffer, with additional book material by Jerome Coopersmith," state press notes.  The Apple Tree premiered on Broadway on October 18th, 1966 at the Shubert Theatre starring Alan Alda and Barbara Harris, directed by Mike Nichols.  The production is based on the acclaimed 2005 New York City Center Encores! revival of The Apple Tree staring Chenoweth and directed by Griffin.
