The American Theatre Wing and Broadway League hosted an evening to honor 2009 Special Tony Award recipients at Montenapo last night, Saturday June 6th, 2009. Montenapo is located at 250 West 41st Street in New York City. BroadwayWorld.com's cameras were there to greet the "Tony" crowd as they arrived.
The evening's honorees including, Shirley Herz, recipient of the Tony Honor of Excellence in the Theatre; and Signature Theatre recipient of the Regional Theatre Award. Along with Tony Award Nominee Martha Plimpton My Pal Joey, Lucie Arnaz and Marc Kudish 9 to 5, Tony Nominee Christopher Sieber Shrek The Musical, Zach Grenier, Tony Nominee David Bologna Billy Elliot The Musical, Tony Nominee Hunter Bell [Title of Show], The Broadway League's Executive Director, Charlotte St. Martin, The American Theatre Wing's Executive Director Howard Sherman and others joined in the Tony eve excitement.

Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss/White Cherry Entertainment are Executive Producers of the 2009 Tony Awards. Mr. Weiss will also serve as Director of the 2009 Tony Awards.
