Once the uniform of a certain type of London party girl, her frocks now merit red carpets of their own and most definitely translate across the continents. Famous for hard work and originating in a hippy haven in Somerset where her parents make cider, she has become a dress designer with staying power.
Alice Temperley graduated from London's prestigious Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art. Following the success of the launch collection in 2000 at London Fashion Week, the first Temperley London boutique opened in 2001 on Colville Mews in Notting Hill, London where the head office and design rooms are still situated.
In 2006 Alice Temperley took on New York Fashion Week - and soon afterward had a retail count of 150 stores (and counting) worldwide, including Bergdorf Goodman and Selfridges.
ALICE by Temperley, launched in 2010, is a contemporary sister line created to fulfill a need for an everyday Temperley look in a more accessible market.
