An array of stars took part in Times Talks: Special Editions conversations as part of the 5th Annual New York Times Arts & Leisure Weekend on January 7th at the CUNY Graduate Center (5th Avenue at 34th Street) on Saturday, January 7th.
Larry David ("Curb Your Enthusiasm"), Aaron McGruder (creator of The Boondocks), Tony Award winners Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Lorraine Bracco, Edie Falco, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Aida Turturro (the women of "The Sopranos") took part in the event.
"Arts & Leisure Weekend is The Times's annual event of national and international celebrations of art and culture. This year more than 1,500 cultural institutions are participating throughout the United States and Europe. The weekend includes a wide range of arts and leisure activities from interviews with celebrities to free admission at museums around the country and the world," state press notes for the 5-day Weekend, which runs through today, January 9th. Among other participants for the Weekend were actor Philip Seymour Hoffman; Grammy and Emmy-winner Harry Connick Jr, The Lord of the Rings star Viggo Mortensen, best-selling writers Joan Didion, Patricia Cornwell, Scott Turow and Linda Fairstein, choreographer/director Kathleen Marshall, Donna McKechnie, performers Bebe Neuwirth, Michael Cerveris, Michael C. Hall and Hank Azaria; three-time Grammy-winning vocalist Dawn Upshaw, and independent filmmaker Jim Jarmusch.
