Roundabout Theatre Company officially opened Speech & Debate, a black comedy by Stephen Karam, directed by Tony Award nominee Jason Moore, on Monday October 29.  The cast features Susan Blackwell as "Teacher/Reporter," Jason Fuchs as "Solomon," Gideon Glick as "Howie" and Sarah Steele as "Diwata."  This is a limited engagement through December 16.

Speech & Debate marks the first production in Roundabout's new Black Box Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street).

"In Speech & Debate, three teenage misfits in Salem, Oregon reluctantly form their school's first speech and debate team after discovering they are all linked by a sex scandal that's rocked their town. Secrets become currency, blogs are belted and 'bathing suit areas' exposed in this black comedy about what, if anything, it means to be an adult," explain press notes.

All tickets ($20) for Speech & Debate are issued as general admission passes for first-come, first-served seating on the show date. Available by calling Roundabout Ticket Services at 212-719-1300, online at www.roundaboutunderground.com or at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre box office (111 West 46th Street).

Speech & Debate plays Tuesday through Saturday evening at 8:00PM with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:30PM and Sunday evenings at 7:00PM. www.roundaboutunderground.com
