A Spring Gala benefiting The Salvation Army in Greater New York's Emergency Disaster Services program and to honor former President Bill Clinton's disaster relief efforts was held Friday, March 23 at the Hilton New York Grand Ballroom.
Robin Roberts, co-anchor of ABC's Good Morning America served as the evening's Mistress of Ceremonies. Robert B. Catell, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of KeySpan, chaired the event. Tony Award Winner Brian Stokes Mitchell provided the entertainment for the evening.
"The Salvation Army in Greater New York's tribute to President Clinton singled him out for his exemplary benevolence and his extraordinary national and global efforts to reach out to those struck by disaster and disease," stated press notes, "Clinton's incalculable contributions in this area include the leadership and moral support he provided following the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami and the 2005 hurricanes that struck the American Gulf Coast."
All proceeds from the Gala directly benefited The Salvation Army in Greater New York's Emergency Disaster Services program. The program works 24 hours a day to provide provisions and support to individuals and families affected by catastrophe and assists in the identification and registration of victims.
