SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark is Broadway's most popular new show and, in the past year, the production has been seen by more than 1 million audience members from around the world. It features music and lyrics by 22-time Grammy® Award-winners Bono and The Edge, direction by Philip William McKinley (The Boy From Oz), and a book co-written by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger (Underneath The Lintel) and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Fantastic Four and Spider-Man comics, "Big Love"). Scenic Designer George Tsypin and Costume Designer Eiko Ishioka are winners of Outer Critics Circle Awards and were nominated for Tony Awards® for their work on SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark.

The USS Michael Murphy is a new U.S. Navy warship named for Lt. Michael Murphy, a Medal of Honor-winning Navy SEAL from Patchogue, Long Island. The ship steamed its way into New York Harbor last week in preparation for an October 6th commissioning. Lt. Murphy was killed in a 2005 firefight in Afghanistan after exposing himself to enemy fire in order to request immediate support for his element. He then returned to his position to continue fighting until he died from his wounds. Lt. Murphy was the first person to be awarded the military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, for actions during the war in Afghanistan and the first to receive the award since the Vietnam War.
