On Saturday, June 19, Julie Andrews was honored at the Starlight Ball in East Hampton Andrews recently played a sold out concert, 'An Evening with Julie Andrews' at the O2 Arena in the UK on May 8, 2010. 'An Evening with Julie Andrews' saw a night of music from her greatest stage and screen performances, as well as the live narration of the story Simeon's Gift, the best-selling childrens book written by Julie and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton (now available). Andrews and Hamilton recently released a second book, A Very Faity Princess. In attendance were special guests Christie Brinkley, Juergen & Anke Friedrich, and Jay McInerney & Anne Hearst McInerney.  BroadwayWorld was also on hand to capture the arrivals and brings you full coverage of the event below.

Dame Julie has captivated audiences throughout her legendary career, from her stage performances in THE BOY FRIEND, MY FAIR LADY, and CAMELOT, to unforgettable roles in "Mary Poppins" and "The Sound of Music" right through to her most recent projects, "The Princess Diaries," the Shrek films and "Eloise at the Plaza." Her latest films, "Tooth Fairy" and the animated "Despicable Me," will all be released in 2010. She is one of the most recognized performers in the world and has an extraordinary fan base of 5 generations.

The annual Starlight Ball benefits the Steven J. Ross Scholarship Fund, a program that enables 45 percent of the student body to receive financial assistance. The evening included a cocktail, dinner, silent auction, and musical performances by The Miracles, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, and Jr Walker's Allstar Band.

Ross school was founded in 1991 by Courtney and Steven J. Ross and incorporates innovative models to prepare students to meet the challenges of the 21st century. The academy serves 550 students of diverse geographic, academic, economic, social, and ethnic backgrounds, from pre-nursery through grade twelve. The boarding program ensures interaction, cultural exchange, and international dialogue integral to the Ross learning experience.
