On Monday, July 10th at The Cutting Room (19 W. 24th St.), some of Broadway's best--including Michael Cerveris, Patrick Wilson and Jersey Boys' Christian Hoff, J. Robert Spencer and Daniel Reichard--performed in the 14th annual "Rockers on Broadway."
The evening, presented by Donnie Kehr (who created "Rockers on Broadway"), Peter Gregus and Good to Go Entertainment, was a benefit for Broadway Bares/Equity Fights AIDS. "Rockers On Broadway was originally inspired by Pete Townshend during the Broadway run of The Who's Tommy. Pete wanted to give musical theatre performers the opportunity to experience the feeling of singing with a rock band in a concert style venue, so they could understand and transfer the rawness of that edge to the stage," state press notes. This year's show also featured Kehr, Kathy Brier, Des McAnuff, Tituss Burgess, Micky Dolenz, and more.
