Toronto's 'Jean Valjean' took centre stage Tuesday night as the Blue Jays faced off against the Yankees at the Rogers Centre. Ramin Karimloo, in Toronto to tackle the lead role in the upcoming Mirvish presentation of Les Miserables, sang O Canada in a 'Valjean' Blue Jays jersey and gave the crowd a preview of what's to come when he takes the stage at The Princess of Wales. Ramin has previously performed the role in the West End, and returns to his hometown to make his Toronto stage debut this September. BWW is thrilled to bring readers photos from the event.
The Toronto premiere of the new Cameron Mackintosh production of Les Miserables will begin performances on September 27th and officially kick off the 2013-2014 Mirvish Subscription season. The predominantly Canadian cast is in rehearsals now, and BWW will be on hand to bring readers all things 'Miz' leading up to opening night.
This new production of Les Miserables was incredibly well received by critics throughout the United States, with the New York Times calling it 'Thrilling, Spectacular and Unforgettable.' Featuring the story and songs that people have come to know and love and inventive new staging, scenery and costumes, this new production of Les Miserables is not to be missed.
