The award-winning York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) begins performances for the return of its hilarious and heartwarming holiday hit 2006 revue, That Time of the Year.  This extremely limited engagement will be presented in a style similar to the York's Musicals in Mufti Series (Staged concerts of musical theatre gems performed "book-in-hand" with minimal props and costumes) this weekend only from December 18th through December 20th, 2009.

The cast includes Bridget Beirne (2007 cast of That Time of the Year), Kerri Jill Garbis (2007 cast of That Time of the Year), Josh Grisetti (Theatre World Award winner for Enter Laughing, The Musical), Ann Harada (Avenue Q, 9 to 5), and Thom Christopher Warren (The Lion King).  Emmy Award winner Annette Jolles (Little by Little) will be serving as director with Matt Castle (Enter Laughing, The Musical) as music director.

Comprised of all-original holiday tunes performed by zany wintertime characters such as singing fruitcakes, a dancing dreidel and a very sexy Mrs. Claus, That Time of the Year has lyrics by Laurence Holzman and Felicia Needleman and music by seven different composers (Sanford Marc Cohen, Nicholas Levin, Donald Oliver, Kyle Rosen, Brad Ross, Mark Wherry and Wendy Wilf).

Performances are as follows: Friday, December 18th at 8 PM, Saturday, December 19th at 2:30 and 8 PM, and Sunday, December 20th at 2:30 and 7:30 PM.  The York Theatre Company is located in Saint Peter's Church, at 619 Lexington Avenue in New York.

Tickets are priced at $37.50 and available at the York Theatre Box Office (open Monday through Friday from Noon to 6 PM), by phone at 212-935-5820 or online at www.yorktheatre.org

The York Theatre Company was nominated for five 2009 Drama Desk Awards, four Lucille Lortel Awards, two Outer Critics Circle Awards and two Drama League Awards for its productions of Enter Laughing, The Musical and My Vaudeville Man! last season.  York Theatre Company is one of the only companies in the city committed to developing and producing new Musical Theatre Works and rediscovering musical gems from the past. Winner of a special Drama Desk Award for developing and producing new musical theatre, York's intimate, imaginative style of producing both original and classic musicals has resulted in critical acclaim and recognition from artists and audiences alike for almost four decades.  Under the guidance of Artistic Director James Morgan since 1997, the York has focused exclusively on new musicals in its Mainstage Series-most of them world, American or New York premieres-by some of the field's most esteemed creators and has also helped launch the careers of many talented new writers.
