On Monday, January 22nd at the Rainbow Room (30 Rockefeller Plaza, 65th Floor), Manhattan Theatre Club presented its annual Winter Benefit, "An Intimate Night," an evening of cocktails and dinner followed by a special one-night-only cabaret-style show featuring stage, film and television stars – and MTC alumni – Christine Baranski and Jesse L. Martin. Also in attendance were Wicked star Kate Reinders and director Christopher Ashley.
All monies raised from this annual event were to benefit MTC's extensive educational outreach programs, as well as its musical theatre and play development activities.
Baranski, a two-time Tony-winner for The Real Thing and Rumors, is currently starring in Paul Rudnick's comedy Regrets Only - directed by Ashley - at the Manhattan Theatre Club. Martin is most widely known for his long-running portrayal of Detective Ed Green on "Law & Order." An original cast member of Rent, he has appeared at the Manhattan Theatre Club in The Arabian Nights.
Under the leadership of Artistic Director Lynne Meadow and Executive Producer Barry Grove, Manhattan Theatre Club has grown in three decades from a prolific Off-Off Broadway showcase into one of the country's most acclaimed theatre organizations. MTC develops and presents works of the highest quality by both established and emerging American and international playwrights. Visit www.manhattantheatreclub.org for more information.
