MOVE FOR AIDS launched with an exhibition that took place at the Milk Gallery (450 W. 15th St.) in New York on October 24th (the exhibition runs through October 28th). The new book of the same title was also celebrated.
"MOVE FOR AIDS" is "an exciting global project bringing together over fifty of America's leading dancers in a dynamic photographic essay created and captured by acclaimed photographer James Houston. Hugo Boss teams up with Houston to launch his fourth published book, 'MOVE,' to raise continued awareness and a targeted $1million in much needed funding for HIV/AIDS," state press notes.
Dancers from leading American dance companies donated their time, as did renown Principle Dancer Desmond Richardson, Co Artistic Director, Complexions Contemporary Ballet NY. Houston established the MOVE FOR AIDS project as a way of raising money and awareness for AIDS charities. The project incorporates the 'MOVE book' (published by powerHouse Books, New York), photographic exhibitions, a special documentary on the shooting of 'MOVE,' and dance performances by some of the world's leading dance companies to launch the project around the world.
