MCC Theater presented an all-star line-up for the theater's annual Gala, which was held Monday, March 12, 2007 at The Hammerstein Ballroom (311 West 34th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues).

"As in years past, 'Miscast 2007' will bring together the best and brightest Broadway talent as they perform songs from roles in which they would never be cast.  This year's event is in honor of producers Kevin McCollum and Jeffrey Seller for their commitment to producing innovative works that reach new audiences both on and Off Broadway.  The producing duo's credits include Rent, Avenue Q, De La Guarda, Baz Luhrmann's La Boheme and In the Heights, among many others.  All proceeds go directly to MCC's production, play development, education and outreach programs," state press materials.

The line-up included, among others, Broadway favorites Norbert Leo Butz (Tony Award-winner for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Raul Esparza (Company), Jane Krakowski (Tony Award-winner for Nine and current star of the NBC hit series "30 Rock"), LaChanze (Tony Award-winner for The Color Purple), Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights), Nicole Parker (Fame Becomes Me), and Josh Strickland (Tarzan).
