Kristin Huffman, joined by several Company co-stars, presented a cabaret at Ars Nova (511 W 54th St.) on May 7th at 8pm.
"Kristin Huffman currently appearing as 'Sarah' (flute, piccolo, sax) in the Broadway revival of Company, invites you to a cabaret where the audience picks the style of the songs they want to hear! Hilarity ensues when Kristin and accompanist/antagonist, Matt Castle, 'Peter' also in Company, perform their own version of Total Request Live, by letting the audience participate in picking the tunes! From Country to Opera, from Rock to Jazz. And of course, Musical Theatre! You can even choose the title!," stated press notes. "Kamakaze Kabaret" won out.
The evening also featured Kelly Jeanne Grant ('Kathy') as Huffman's hostess, back-up singer and jazz improviser, Renee Bang Allen as a hostess, Rob Cunningham ('Paul') on drums and guitar, Amy Justman ('Susan') duetting with Huffman in an opera duet, Keith Buterbaugh ('Harry'), who brought his own sheet music and made Huffman sing "Anything You Can Do," as well as performed real karate with her, Fred Rose ('David') playing cello for a Beatles tune, and Company understudy Brandon Ellis ('Paul' and 'David') playing guitar for the country song "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?." The Pirate Queen's Kimilee Bryant also performed alongside Huffman.
