On Tuesday morning, May 15th, Taye Diggs and Jane Krakowski appeared at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts in Lincoln Center to announce the nominations for the American Theatre Wing's 61st annual Tony Awards.
Diggs (Rent, Wicked) and Krakowski (Nine, Grand Hotel) read the list of artists and productions recognized in the 25 competitive Tony categories, and announced other honors such as special Tony Awards. The Nominations Announcement event was sponsored by IBM.
Spring Awakening led the pack of nominated shows with a total of 11 nominations, followed by Grey Gardens and The Coast of Utopia with 10 each.
