In honor of TV host, author and comedy queen Joy Behar, Randie Levine-Miller Entertainment C'tee Co Chair at the Friars put 2 chairs on the stage of the Frank Sinatra Room. Legendary TV talk show icon and author Dick Cavett in one, and Joy in the other. Then she asked them to simply talk.
What followed was an hysterical evening of remembrances and reflections of two very brilliant and quick-witted talk show hosts. Of course most of the stories cannot be repeated here, however Joy did point out that she is most annoyed at guests who use the word amazing to describe everything in their life. Dick recalled what a truly wonderful and beloved man
Jack Benny was. Off the air he asked the esteemed comedian if he ever got tired of people coming over and telling him how much they worshiped him. "WELL" said Jack putting his arm around Dick, "you know sometimes young man, I just want to tell them to go..." It was truly an amazing evening at The Friars.
