Jason Robert Brown's SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD was performed last night, March 11 at XL Cabaret (512 West 42nd St). The evening, directed by two-time Tony nominee Jeff Calhoun, starred Nick Adams, Ashley Brown, Jessica Rush and Michael James Scott. Jason Robert Brown's SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD, is a series of songs, connected by the theme "the moment of decision." The show employs four performers who do not play the same characters throughout the show, but have consistently developing character arcs. Composer Jason Robert Brown has said of his show, "It's about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back."
The creative team for the performance includes Jeremy Merrifield (Executive Producer), James Sampliner (Musical Direction), and Richard J. Hinds (Associate Director).
