Tony Award winners Joan Allen and Jeremy Irons have returned to Broadway to star together in the world premiere of Impressionism, a new American play by Michael Jacobs opening at the Gerald SchoenfeldTheatre on Tuesday March 24, 2009. The production, directed by Tony Award-winner Jack O'Brien, began preview performances on February 28. BroadwayWorld.com's cameras were there for the starry opening night party at Sardi's!
IMPRESSIONISM stars Tony Award winners Jeremy Ironsand Joan Allen and is directed by Tony Award-winner Jack O'Brien. The cast features Marsha Mason, André De Shields, Michael T. Weiss, Aaron Lazar, Margarita Levieva and Hadley Delany.
IMPRESSIONISM's creative team is Scott Pask (scenic design),Catherine Zuber (costume design), Natasha Katz (lighting design), Elaine McCarthy (projection design) and Leon Rothenberg (sound design). Original music is by Bob James.
The production will mark Ms. Allen's first return to Broadway since The Heidi Chronicles in 1989, and Mr. Irons' first time on Broadway since The Real Thing in 1984.
