Sarah Saltzberg (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Steve Rosen (Monty Python's Spamalot), and David Rossmer (Fiddler on the Roof), in conjunction with Joe's Pub, presented the first "Don't Quit Your Night Job," a new monthly comedy benefit featuring a revolving cast of Broadway and Off-Broadway's brightest stars (from such shows as Spelling Bee, Spamalot, Sweeney Todd, Avenue Q, Producers, Rent, Five Course Love and Altar Boyz, to name a few) performing without a net on Monday, June 26th. Future guests scheduled to appear (subject to change) include: Christian Anderson, Hank Azaria, Kevin Cahoon, Samantha Daniel, Lauren Kennedy, Richard Kind, Tyler Maynard, Anthony Rapp, Daniel Reichard and BD Wong.
"Don't Quit Your Night Job" featured an evening of improv, music, original sketch comedy and backstage anecdotes which benefited Wendy Wasserstein's Open Doors program. Music direction was by Dan Lipton. You won't want to miss what will surely become the popular new "it" thing to do in town! The next two shows take place on Thursday, July 27 and Thursday, August 31. More dates are in the works....
