Tony Award-winner Cady Huffman celebrated her birthday with a January 29th concert at Birdland.
"Cady Huffman is about to tell it like it is, from her aspirations to be an operatic soprano - to making her Broadway debut as a drag queen. With songs ranging from Tinpan Alley to rock and roll - and composers from Townsend to Sondheim, Cady will give you what you want and a lot more than you expect!," state press materials. David Brind directed and Roger Cohen musical directed the evening, which featured such stars as Julie White, Nancy Anderson, Jack Noseworthy and Sandra Bernhard as guests.
In 2001, Huffman played the role of Ulla in the Broadway musical The Producers, and received the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical. She later appeared as herself in several guest spots on the television show "Curb Your Enthusiasm." Huffman made her film debut in the 1992 film Hero, which stars Dustin Hoffman, Geena Davis, and Andy Garcia. She was seen in the 2005 film Romance & Cigarettes, and played Dr. Paige Miller on "One Life to Live."
