On Sunday, September 16, thousands upon thousands of fans of Broadway assembled in Times Square for the 16th Annual Broadway on Broadway Concert presented by Continental Airlines and hosted by Hairspray's Lance Bass. BroadwayWorld brings you photos of the on-stage performances with stars from such shows as Les Miserables, Curtains, Chicago, Mary Poppins, Rent, Legally Blonde, The Drowsy Chaperone and more!
This year, two new elements were introduced to the festivities:Broadway's Biggest Fan Contest - Fans were asked to submit a sixty-second video showing why they are Broadway's biggest fan. Videos from 3 finalists were broadcast on a jumbo screen in Times Square in front of a crowd of thousands. Broadway Fan Zone - which gave fans an opportunity to enjoy the concert from a VIP area right near the stage. It's was an up-close and personal standing-room section available to the first 100 fans that arrive dressed as their favorite Broadway character.
