Broadway Bares 14: Now Showing, took place on June 20th at the Roseland Ballroom. This year's event had a Hollywood theme, and featured over 200 performers strutting their stuff (and then taking it off) for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
The 14th Annual BROADWAY BARES was a great success raising $525,000 raised to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The evening featured 200 of the sexiest chorus boys and girls from Broadway's biggest shows baring (almost) all and adding a sexy spin to classic scenes inspired by movies including Rocky, Flashdance, Singin' in the Rain and the James Bond Series.
Christopher Sieber of Into the Woods and Chicago opened the night with the song "Coming Attraction," which played homage to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. John Tartaglia, along with one of his Avenue Q alter-egos Rod, created a scene straight from an urban legend of an unwelcome house guest while being inside the shower -- only this one involved a rubber duckie. "Queer Eye For the Straight Guy" star Jai Rodriguez closed the evening with the song that will live on forever - "Fame".
