On Friday, March 23rd, the 2007 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards were held at the Hudson Theatre of the Millennium Broadway Hotel (145 West 44th Street).
Nine-time Emmy Award-winner Bob Mackie (Moon Over Buffalo, Putting It Together) was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Grey Gardens star Christine Ebersole, while three-time Tony Award-winner Santo Loquasto was presented with the Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Lifetime Achievement in Theatrical Design by director Frank Galati, with whom he worked on Ragtime. Kermit Love (TDF/Irene Sharaff Artisan Award, who is responsible for the look of "Sesame Street"'s best-known characters including Big Bird, was presented with a TDF/Irene Sharaf Artisan award by Pam Arciero. Rouben Ter-Arutunian was the recipient of a TDF/Irene Sharaff Posthumous Award; he was remembered with with a short film produced by Suzy Benzinger.
Also taking part in the festivities were Kathleen Battle, Charles Busch, Robert LaFosse and costumes designers Gregg Barnes, Alvin Colt, Jane Greenwood, Desmond Heeley, Willa Kim, Kitty Leech, Jeff Mahshie, Martin Pakledinaz, Robert Perdziola, Eduardo Sicangio and David Woolard, among others.
