BWW went backstage at Town Hall last night, May 4, to capture Tony and Olivier Award-winning star Lea Salonga after her performance, "The Journey Continues. See Salonga after she received multiple standing ovations for a knock-out concert in the photos below!
 
Having enchanted audiences worldwide, Lea Salonga originated the role of Kim in Broadway’s Miss Saigon, for which she won the Tony, Olivier, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Theatre World Awards. She also played Eponine and Fantine in the musical Les Misérables on Broadway. She was named a “Disney Legend” in 2011 for her work as the voice of Princess Jasmine in Aladdin and Fa Mulan in Mulan and Mulan II. Lea made her debut in the world of Cabaret in 2010, performing a sold-out, three-week engagement at the Café Carlyle in New York City.
 
In August 2011 she released a live version of her 2010 concert “Lea Salonga: The Journey So Far.” The Journey Continues was an intimate evening that featured a selection of Broadway tunes, standard classics and today’s hits, as well as personal stories of Salonga’s incredible journey, spanning decades.
 
The Town Hall’s spring season also includes: Loudon Wainwright III With Some Family and Friends on Fri, May 18 @ 8pm, An Evening with Judy Collins and Madeleine Peyroux on Fri, June 1 @ 8pm, Jane Krakowski: Live at The Town Hall on Fri, June 8 @ 8pm, and The Romulo Larrera Ensemble: Tango for Lovers on Fri, June 22 @ 8pm. In addition, The Town Hall will present their acclaimed concert series Broadway By The Year®, created, written and hosted for The Town Hall by Scott Siegel as follows: The Broadway Musical of 1975 on Mon, May 14th at 8pm and The Broadway Musicals of 1987 on Mon, June 11th at 8pm.
