The 2006 Americans For The Arts National Arts Awards Gala took place on October 16th in New York City.

Among those who attended were movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert Downey Jr., athele Lance Armstrong and theatre, film and cabaret star Kitty Carlisle Hart.

Americans for the Arts is a "nonprofit organization for advancing the arts in America. It is dedicated to representing and serving local communities and creating opportunities for every American to participate in, and appreciate all forms of, the arts."
