Photo Coverage: 2009 Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation Gala

The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation hosted its 19th annual A Magical Evening gala on Monday, November 9, 2009 at The Marriott Marquis in New York City. This year's gala recognized the results of a recently published study sponsored by the Reeve Foundation, which shows that 5.6 million Americans are living with paralysis, 1.275 million of those as a result of spinal cord injury.
The evening's celebration committee: Francine LeFrak & Rick Friedberg, Meryl Streep, Eaddo & Peter Kiernan, Glenn Close, David Blaine, Jack & Gail Hughes, Henry G. Stifel III, and Francesco Clark were joined by special guests Matthew Reeve, Alexandra Reeve Givens and Will Reeve, Jane Krakowski (NBC's 30 Rock) Anthony Edwards, Caroline Rhea, Richard Kind, Tinsley Mortimer, Matthew Settle (CW's Gossip Girl), Amanda Righetti (CBS's The Mentalist), Paul Teutul Sr. (TLC's American Chopper), Rita Cosby, Platinum Recording Singer-Songwriter Colbie Caillat, Victoria's Secret model Anne Vyalistyna, Style expert Mary Alice Stephenson, Miss USA Kristen Dalton, Miss Teen USA Stormi Henley, and Semi-Homemade chef Sandra Lee, among many others at this year's star-studded charity event.
Proceeds from the gala will benefit the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, which is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by funding innovative research, and improving the quality of life for people living with paralysis through grants, information and advocacy.
