THE PHOENIX THEATRE ENSEMBLE is pleased to announce the New York Premiere production of Joseph Vitale's MURROW, starring Joseph Menino, and directed by Jeremy Williams. MURROW will play a limited engagement at The Wild Project (195 East 3rd Street, NYC). Performances begin Wednesday, May4 and continue through Sunday, May22. Opening Night is Saturday, May7 (8 p.m.). Tickets are $25 at www.OvationTix.com or 212-352-2101.

Murrow, a one-character play in two acts, traces the life of famed broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow from his beginnings as a young man growing up in Washington State, to his entry into radio with the fledgling CBS radio network, to his famed broadcasts from London during the "blitz," to his on-air showdown with Senator Joseph McCarthy in 1954. The play ends as Murrow is forced off the air by his one-time friend and mentor Bill Paley when Murrow's penchant for controversial programs becomes too risky for the CBS Corporation to bear. More than just a biography of one of the icons of American journalism, "Murrow" is ultimately a powerful, scathing indictment of the modern corporate-media complex.

The production features scenic design by W.T. McRae and lighting design by Kate Jaworski. Liz Stanton is the sound designer. Video projection designer and stage management are TBD.

MURROW plays the following regular schedule through Sunday, May22:

Wednesdays at 8 p.m.

Thursdays at 8 p.m.

Fridays at 8 p.m.

Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Sundays at 3 p.m.

There is an additional performance on Tuesday, May 17 at 8 p.m.

The performance on Wednesday May 11 is at 2 p.m. (not 8 p.m.)

Tickets are $25 and are now available online at www.OvationTix.com or by calling 866-811-4111. Tickets may also be purchased in-person at the theater ½ hour prior to performance.

Running Time: 90 minutes
