Petopia Animal Rescue Adoption Center to Host Casino Night to Benefit Homeless Animals

Saturday, August 9, 2014, put on your best poker-face and join Petopia Animal Rescue Adoption Center for an exciting evening of casino games and live entertainment to benefit animals in need.

Move over MGM Grand, the ladies behind the multi-rescue adoption center in Woodland Hills are headed to the Hilton Hotel to bring more good luck to dogs and cats in search of a forever home. During Vegas in the Valley, guests will try their luck at the money wheel or roulette, roll the dice at craps, play for prizes at Texas hold'em, or double down playing blackjack to help raise funds for this worthy cause. The evening will also feature enticing food bars, a raffle, and exciting silent and live auction items up for bid, such as a luxury Sanctuary Retreats Nile cruise - courtesy of Abercrombie & Kent - valued at over $4500.

"We're looking forward to our upcoming Vegas in the Valley event," states Debbie Regal, co-founder of Petopia. "The funds raised during our event will allow us to continue rescuing and providing vet care to abandoned animals, while seeking out forever homes at our adoption center in the Westfield Promenade."

"Our Petopia store has been a tremendous resource, allowing multiple rescue groups to show their adoptable animals under one roof," states Yvette Berke, Petopia's other co-founder. "It's been a great location due to the amount of people who frequent the mall, and as a result, more animals are getting adopted."

DJ Shy is set to spin some tunes. And adding to the evening's excitement, LA-based pop-soul artists David & Devine will take the stage for a special musical performance. Between this dynamic duo, they have toured with some of the industry's top artists such as Sheryl Crow, Lady Antebellum, Jason Mraz, Macy Gray and Christina Aguilera.

The real guests of honor, however, are Petopia's adoptable cats and dogs who will be "working the room" in search of new friends and a place to call home.

Petopia Animal Rescue Adoption Center is a nonprofit multi-rescue adoption facility located in the Westfield Promenade mall on Topanga Canyon Boulevard, in Woodland Hills. Comprised of four local animal rescue groups - Valley Cats, Southern California Pomeranian Rescue, Precious Paws and LA Animal Rescue - the store features rescued dogs and cats who are in need of a forever home.
