Performances by Ethel Merman, Carol Channing and more will be featured on "Broadway's Best at Pops," a PBS special that will air footage of Broadway greats singing with the Boston Pops as part of the "Evening at Pops" series.  The program will be broadcast on WNET/Thirteen on November 24th at 8 PM (check local listings).

Bernadette Peters will host the show, which will treat viewers to Channing's performance of "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes as well as a Broadway medley by Merman, the legendary star of Anything Goes, Annie Get Your Gun, Gypsy and others.  Other featured stars will include Pearl Bailey ("Hello, Dolly"), Sammy Davis Jr. ("I Gotta Be Me"), Gregory Hines ("Rhythm is My Business"), John Raitt and daughter Bonnie Raitt ("Hey There"), Ray Bolger ("Once in Love with Amy"), Audra McDonald ("Mister Snow") and Kristin Chenoweth ("Glitter and Be Gay").

Dozens of stars have been featured on "Evening at Pops," a PBS favorite for over thirty years.  The concerts are taped live at Boston's Symphony Hall; Kristin Chenoweth, Barbara Cook, Patti LuPone, Nathan Lane, Audra McDonald and Ben Vereen are only a few of the Broadway stars who have performed at the Pops.

A two-time Tony-winner for Song and Dance and Annie Get Your Gun, Peters has received Tony nominations for her performances in the 1972 revival of On the Town, Mack and Mabel, Sunday in the Park with George, The Goodbye Girl and the 2003 revival of Gypsy. She also originated the role of the Witch in Into the Woods, and has appeared in such films as Slaves of New York, Alice, The Jerk and It Runs in the Family.

"Broadway's Best at Pops" will re-air on Nov. 26 at 1 AM and Nov. 27 at 12:30 PM; check local listings.  For more information, visit www.thirteen.org.
