Peter Mazurowski, Neil McCaffrey & Gabriel Rush Join BILLY ELLIOT This Fall

Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions in association with Weinstein Live Entertainment announced today that Peter Mazurowski will join the cast of the 10-time Tony Award-winning Billy Elliot the Musical, in the role of ‘Billy.' Joining him will be Neil McCaffrey and Gabriel Rush alternating in the role of ‘Michael.'

Mazurowski, 13, trained at the New Hampshire School of Ballet and will make his Broadway debut as ‘Billy.' He will be the 10th boy to perform the role on Broadway. Rush, 12, makes his Broadway debut after playing the role of ‘Michael' in the first national touring production of Billy Elliot in Chicago. McCaffrey, 12, was most recently seen on Broadway in Bye, Bye Birdie as Randolph McAfee and Mary Poppins as Michael Banks.

Liam Redhead will play his final performance as ‘Billy' Sunday, August 29, 2010 and Michael Dameski will play his final performance as ‘Billy' Sunday, September 5, 2010.

Billy Elliot the Musical features music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry.

Peter Mazyrowski (Billy): Hi, my name is Peter Mazurowski and I am 13 years old. I am thrilled to have the honor of playing the role of Billy Elliot. From a young age, I always dreamed of performing on Broadway, and I am so grateful that I finally get the opportunity. I was inspired to dance by my older sister Dana, and started dancing at age six at New Hampshire School of Ballet where I trained in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, modern, and acrobatics. I also danced competitively and was fortunate enough to be the recipient of many awards and scholarships. Thank you to everyone at Billy Elliot for making this such an amazing experience!
