Pen Parentis Literary Salons close an exciting season with readings by internationally best-selling author Sarah Pekkanen, Pulitzer Prize nominee Charles McNair, Amazon #1 Women's Fiction pick author Amy Scheibe, and triple-threat writing phenomenon Liz Rosenberg. The night begins at 7pm with networking over wine. Readings and signings will be followed by Q&A moderated by Pen Parentis founder M. M. De Voe and its new Salons curator, novelist Christina Chiu. Come join the fun! Pen Parentis Literary Salons were founded to celebrate the creative work of writers that are also parents, and are a great place to meet industry notables.
The event takes place tonight, May 12th at the elegant and historic private library at the historic New York Times Building, 41 Park Row, 16th floor. The night kicks off at 7:00 pm, and admission is free. RSVP is required through the Pen Parentis website. Pen Parentis Literary Salons are open to all adults over the age of 21. Books will be vended and proceeds go to Community Bookstore in Brooklyn.

Sarah Pekkanen is the internationally bestselling author of The Opposite of Me, Skipping a Beat, These Girls, and The Best of Us as well as a series of linked short stories for eReaders. Liz Rosenberg is the author of 4 novels, 5 books of poems and more than 20 award winning books for children. She has edited five prize winning poetry anthologies (including THE INVISIBLE LADDER and LIGHT GATHERING POEMS) and her picture book, THE CAROUSEL was featured on PBS' Reading Rainbow. Her newest picture book, TYRANNOSAURUS DAD (illustrated by brilliant newcomer Matthew Myers) is a Children's Book of the Month Club bestseller and has garnered praise from Publisher's Weekly, Kirkus, School Library Journal and elsewhere, and was an Amazon top 10 children's book. She is the proud mother of Eli Bosnick, 21 and Lily, 11.
Amy Scheibe's first novel, WHAT DO YOU DO ALL DAY, was Amazon's #1 Women's Fiction Pick for 2005. Her current novel, A FIREPROOF HOME FOR THE BRIDE has been featured in national presses such as Vanity Fair, Redbook, and People Magazine. She lives in Manhattan with her husband and their two children.
Charles McNair is a native of Alabama who currently lives in Bogota, Columbia. His critically acclaimed first novel, Land O' Goshen, was a nominee for the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1994. His long-awaited second novel, Pickett's Charge, was published in September 2013. Charles serves as Books Editor for Paste magazine, and often shares his reviews on an Atlanta radio station. Finding a new love, Charles recently became the instant parent of two wonderful children. He is currently at work on his third novel, The Epicureans.
