Recently nominated for a Los Angeles Ovation Award and LA Weekly Award, and winner of the Orange County Weekly Award, Paul Stroili's Straight Up with a Twist has been set for New York City previews at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in the West Bank Cafe, 407 West 42nd Street, November 9, 10, 11, 17 and 18, 2007.
Paul Stroili portrays his Mother, Father, Brother, Grandmother, and a host of other characters who struggle to understand a straight guy who "can't work power tools, but can perfectly fold a fitted sheet."
Paul Stroili's film and television credits include Malcolm in the Middle, The Real Whatever, Brother's Keeper, Getting Personal, Chance of a Lifetime, The Untouchables, Cold Justice and most recently the role of Mr. Tony in the pilot, Help Me. His stage credits include the ACE Award-winning literary parodies A Christmas Twist and Of Grapes and Nuts, as well as Under Milkwood, Oedipus; A Requiem, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Lovers and Keepers, Sister Bernie's Bingo Bash, Dark Ride and the role of Vinnie Black in the original Chicago production of Tony 'n Tina's Wedding. Most recently, Paul created the roles of William and The Pope in The Virtual Theatre Project's World Premiere of Confessions of a Catholic Child.
