The Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, today announced the line-up for its 2014 Greater New York Gala tonight, Feb. 8, 2014 at the Waldorf Astoria. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder will headline the event where Margaret Russell, the Editor in Chief of Architectural Digest, and Tony Award winning actress Patti LuPone, will each receive the 2014 HRC Ally for Equality Award. Celebrity interior designer Nate Berkus will be a special guest.

The Ally for Equality award is given to allies outside the LGBT community who stand up on behalf of equality for all Americans. Through her work at Architectural Digest, Ms. Russell not only features the work of contemporary LGBT architects and designers, but also honors the memory of LGBT architectural icons. As a singer and actress, Patti LuPone has publicly supported LGBT equality for many years and has said that her vocal LGBT following gives her credibility.

Alcoa, Inc. will be presented with HRC's Corporate Equality Award. The Award recognizes Alcoa's commitment to equality for the LGBT community. Alcoa has been outspoken in support of marriage equality and is a pioneer in corporate programs that support LGBT employees. Alcoa has achieved a perfect score of 100 on the HRC Corporate Equality Index since 2009, and is a role model for other companies on the journey toward achieving the top score.
