Jewish Community Centers of Chicago will hold its annual benefit concert on Tuesday, November 14th at 7:30 PM at Chicago's Symphony Center.
The show will feature Tony Award-winning actress
Patti LuPone in her triumphant one-woman show
Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda with members of the
Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
The JCC's Annual Benefit Concert is an integral component of its annual fundraising campaign that supports the diverse programs and services offered at 19 metropolitan
Chicago area sites.
LuPone recently concluded a critically acclaimed run in
John Doyle's revisionist Broadway revival of
Sweeney Todd as pie-maker Mrs. Lovett. Miss LuPone made her debut with the New York Philharmonic in that same role in a concert version of the
Stephen Sondheim musical, before reprising her performance with the San Francisco Symphony, at the Ravinia Festival, and on PBS's
Great Performances telecast.
LuPone also recently released her latest solo CD, entitled "The Lady with the Torch," for Ghostlight Records. She also returned to the Ravinia Festival where, during a three-week break from
Sweeney Todd, she starred in the Jule Styne-
Stephen Sondheim musical
Gypsy, garnering rave reviews for her performance as Mama Rose.
LuPone won her Tony for Best Actress in a Musical for
Evita in 1980. She has numerous other Broadway and London credits, including
Anything Goes, Sunset Boulevard, Les Miserables, Master Class, and
Noises Off.
